There truly is something so magical that happens when it is snowing, especially when it happens so infrequently. Yes, it was freezing. Yes, after only 10 minutes my hands were popsicles, but it was so worth it! If only I could shoot every session in just 10 minutes and end up with gorgeous images such as these!

I tell them to stop worrying bceause if you have a toddler, unless they are an exception, that there is no chance they are going to cooperate so why worry about it? When you have toddlers and young children you have to be realistic about who they are. If your child is very active and has a big personality why on earth would you want me to capture them sitting perfectly still like a little statue? My goal is to capture your family's true nature, so when your children are grown and you look at your pictures you are taken back in time remembering how precocious and rambunctious they were and how much you loved them for it. This beautiful family embraced their kids for who they are and I wouldn't have wanted this session to have gone any other way!

This family is very special to me because they are among the few of my first "real" clients. They've stuck with me throughout the years and I am beyond grateful. Watching Ty grow into a little man is so rewarding. I will never forget their first session at the Main Street Train Station (when it was still free to shoot there). I was so nervous to meet them and scared that I was going to mess everything up and ruin their family pictures. That all just disappeared though the moment I met them. Ly and Michelle were so kind and down to earth that I was immediately at ease and loved capturing the love they shared as a family.

I was so excited when they emailed me that if it rains they will be ready with rain boots and cute umbrellas. I loved this session so much because these images are truly unique and I don't know many kids who don't get excited about playing in the rain! So, if it's calling for rain for your outdoor portrait session, don't be so quick to reschedule!
