Another snowy day here in the Richmond area and that means another chance for a very beautiful and unique maternity shoot! Just last week I photographed Crystal & Jeremy's maternity session at The Carillon and you can't even tell by looking at the pictures that they were taken in the middle of winter! There's no doubt with these images those! As luck would have it Crystal & Jeremy happen to live right around the corner from me (literally) and stopped by for a few quick pictures in the snow! 

After seeing how beautiful my neighbor's maternity session turned out I knew I had to offer this to other mamas to be! I was so inspired by the snow that I decided to do a FREE snowy maternity session to 5 lucky pregnant women who were brave enough to head out in the storm. Every couple of years I do a FREE mini-minis.

It's rare that we get more than a couple of inches of snow here in Richmond Va and I am so thankful for that! Growing up in North Eastern Ohio off of Lake Erie, then moving to Syracuse NY and then Buffalo NY I've seen enough snow for a lifetime! I loved the snow as a kid and found it so magical. As much as I dislike winter and snow now, I must say photographing a maternity session for my beautiful neighbor in the midst of one of RVA's worst winter storms has helped me see the beauty and magic of the snow once again.

It was Monday night and I was lying like a slug on the couch mentally preparing myself for the "huge" snow storm that would surely be bringing at least 5 inches of snow shutting down schools for the entire week. That's when I came across a post, in one of the many photography pages I follow, asking if anyone wanted to play in the snow with a 35 week pregnant lady whom you've never met. Um, yes please! What? This doesn't sound like a smashing good time to you? Stay with me here, by the end of this blog post you will be seeing things my way. I promise.
