What a beautiful venue to start off this year's wedding season! The Bankuet Place in Richmond is gorgeous and a unique location for a wedding. From the marble columns to the ornate friezes The Bankuet place was the perfect setting for Katelyn & Matt's romantic intimate wedding! Oh and did I mention the natural light from all of windows? A photographer's dream!

Speaking of romantic I loved Katelyn & Matt's theme "you have the key to my heart". The antique skeleton keys and chocolates were the perfect touch! After getting to know my couples a bit it's always so much fun to see how their wedding fits them perfectly and it's often exactly how I imaged it would be. I knew after Katelyn & Matt's romantic picnic at Maymont for their engagement shoot that their wedding would be just as romantic and I was not disappointed.

In the midst of all the romance there was also so much down-to-earth fun! I absolutely love Katelyn's positive energy. She has a way about her and such confidence that is inspirational to all women. There is no need for Matt to put into words how he feels about Katelyn. His quiet way with her says it all. They are the perfect compliment to one another.

I absolutely love being a wedding photographer! Memories are so important to me that it makes me truly happy to be able to capture memories for others. I love seeing family and friends come together putting all worries aside for one evening and live with abandon. Happiness really is contagious and I leave every wedding with a little more happiness than I started with (and bigger muscles because my gear is so heavy)! Katelyn & Matt have such wonderful family and friends. Everyone really pulled together and everything from the tables to the flowers to the bride herself were simply beautiful. When couples want to have "the first look" at the ceremony it's fun to have a "blind first look" beforehand. Staci, Katelyn's first cousin, thought it would be funny if her fiancé Mark (they introduced Katelyn & Matt) stood in for Matt. She was right, it was funny! Good call! After I took the picture I showed Katelyn. Thankfully she thought it was funny too!
