Is it really that time of year already? Where has the summer gone? It seems as though fall is here (at least in the morning). Fall is actually my favorite time of year. I love the changing leaves, cool winds and my warm sweaters. The only downside to fall is the fact that inevitably winter follows and the lack of daylight. One of the many things I love about Richmond is the length of fall. When I lived in Ohio fall seemed to role out as quickly as it blew in. By the end of October fall was on it's way out and winter on it's way in. I love that it doesn't really get cold her until late December, if only the leaves would stay on the trees and we didn't have to change the clocks!
Elizabeth won the bid of a Sarah Kane Photography package during Swift Creek Elementary's spring fling silent auction fundraiser! She was hoping for fall weather so the family could wear sweaters for their portrait session and thankfully mother nature delivered! I met Elizabeth and her family at Sunday Park in Midlothian and was so impressed at how polite her children were. I was also impressed at how cooperative and excited they were to get their pictures taken, especially the boys! That doesn't happen often.
We walked along the reservoir looking for pockets of good light and luckily found many! The kids were willing to do anything I asked. I love when my families are adventurous and willing to risk falling into a large body of water to get a good picture! When you're willing to take a chance your pictures are that much better! The Holme's family didn't hesitate to climb out onto some uneven unbalanced rocks. It took awhile to position everyone safely and I watched with my camera ready in case anyone fell in (oh relax, the water wasn't that deep). Although it would have made for great pictures (I'm possibly the only one who would have viewed it that way) thankfully no one went in, everyone stayed dry and we got some spectacular pictures! Another great session with a wonderful family! I have the best job every!! Thank you Holme's family!
