I am so thankful that my job allows me to snuggle so many precious babies. Those first 2 weeks are my favorite. It is such a small window and by the second week they have already begun to change. It happens so quickly and subtly that you may not even realize it unless you have pictures to look back on. My job was even better last week when I got to snuggle not one, but two little loves!
Wesley Leland and Emma Olivia were born on July 15th at 12:30 pm. Wesley weighed in at 6 lbs 2 oz. and little Emma 4 lbs 10 oz. It’s amazing what a difference a pound makes in the baby world. Emma looked so tiny compared to her brother. They were so amazing! When I saw that both had a full head of hair I was even more in love! I’ve been told that the bond twins share is like no other. Jenn said that the babies spoon when they are in their crib together, so I guess it begins before birth. What I wouldn't give to see that! When I wrapped them together they slept so soundly. It was the sweetest thing I'd ever seen!
Technically this was my second set of twins. The first set was way back when I first started and I had no idea what I was doing, so I’m not sure that counts! I have to admit I was a bit nervous because it can be a challenge with one baby if he or she doesn’t sleep, is too wiggly or just isn’t happy with the situation, so I wasn't sure what two would be like. Wesley and Emma decided to take it easy on me though and were perfect little angels! I couldn’t believe it!
I am so happy and excited for Jenn and Mark. This was their first pregnancy and they were doubly blessed. I alway ask new moms, when they are in the studio, to describe how they felt the first time they held their baby (or in this case babies). Jenn described so beautifully and wrote, “I never felt a joy so great and loving then I did the first time I laid eyes on the babies. It's an indescribable feeling that just warms your heart and I never thought I could love something/someone so much”.
I wish the Schweizer family so much love and happiness and cannot wait to watch Wesley and Emma as they grow!
